2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development acts as an umbrella for the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Addis Ababa Action Agenda and the Paris Agreement. It provides an overarching vision and a global framework for national strategies and policies in developing and developed countries. And is expected to lead the transformation on the road to 2030.
The 2030 Agenda has prompted a high level of interest among various stakeholders especially in the developing countries. It is important to build on this sense of urgency and help enhance the knowledge and skills of all the key stakeholders to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) are implemented.
India has set itself ambitious targets for implementation of the SDGs. Keeping this in view, EPTRI, designed and successfully conducted a two (2) week training programme on “Introduction to the 2030 Agenda” from 22 August – 03 September 2022 sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs under the Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme. Twenty-seven (27) participants from twenty-one (21) countries attended the programme.
