On the eve of World Environment Day (WED) ENVIS Hub and RP of EPTRI along with Telangana State Pollution Control Board, Government of Telangana and in association with Lee Shreyus Foundation have organized Virtual awareness campaigns from 29th May – 5th June 2020 on the theme “Time for Nature”.

Events of the Virtual Awareness Campaigns from 29th May – 5th June, 2020 include:
Conducted Eight Webinar Sessions based on the theme and also conducted Environmental Youth Parliament, Online Paper Presentation and Quiz on Environmental Day.
For this event more than 5000 people have participated in these campaigns and encountered in the Asian Record Book.

Shared their views through webinar to the participants of both National and International that both Government of India and Government of Telangana have formulated the policies to conserve the nature, in addition to government, it is our duty to strive for the conservation of nature in the maximum possible way and he wished the people to take care of their green social responsibility and urged them to take up Green Good Deeds in everyday life. Every individual should plant a tree on this occasion and shall protect the plant and shall increase the area with tree cover. This time is very conducive (as we are facing covid -19) to reaffirm our commitment in protecting our environment and nurturing a better planet. They appreciated people who are taking small and big steps to make our earth a better place to live. They wished the team continues the same efforts for educating the people on the environmental hazards and I appeal all people of Telangana will be always in the forefront to conserve this nature.
At the end, participants have taken online pledge to protect the nature.
A two (2) week training programme on Climate Change & Sustainable Development (CCSD), 02-14 December, 2019 was successfully conducted by EPTRI under Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (MEA, GoI). Thirty-one (31) participants from thirty (30) countries attended the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Shri. B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director General, EPTRI.
Shri Suresh K Reddy, IFS, Additional Secretary (MER), MEA, GoI attended the Valedictory and interacted with participants. Inauguration of three (3) week Training programme on Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) conducted by Environment Protection Training & Research Institute (EPTRI) under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (MEA, GoI) from 4-23 November 2019. The programme has forty (41) participants from twenty-three (24) countries. It was inaugurated by Shri. Ballepu Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director General, EPTRI.
Shri. B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, DG EPTRI delivered the special address during the Stakeholder’s Consultation Meet for the ” Preparation of DPR for the Rejunevation of Godavari and Krishna through Forestry Interventions” Organised by Institute of Forest Biodiversity (IFB), Hyderabad. Sri Rajeshwar Tiwari IAS Spl. Chief Secreatary was the Chief Guest.
EPTRI conducted an ITEC Training Programme on Environmental Impact Assessment: Development Projects (EIA: DP) from 02-13 September 2019. The programme had forty (40) participants from twenty-four (24) countries. It was inaugurated by Shri. B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director General, EPTRI and the Valedictory was attended by Dr. Neena Malhotra, IFS, Joint Secretary (East & South Africa), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (MEA, GoI) as Chief Guest.
Country vide experts at the Sub-National Workshop for the Partnership for Action on Green Economy in Goa from 14th to 16th July, 2019 organized by The Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) and TERI. Shri B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director General, EPTRI attended the workshop as expert and panelist.
A Two (2) day training workshop on “Climate Change & Forestry – Exploring New Financial Instruments” for Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers was held by EPTRI from 2-3 May, 2019. A total of 18 officers from 14 states had participated in the training workshop.
The participants deliberated on Climate Change & Climate Finance Instruments available. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri. B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Director General, EPTRI.
