Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) Promotes Environmental Awareness on World Environment Day 2023
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, the Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) EIACP Hub & RP, in association with TSPCB (Telangana State Pollution Control Board) and Visakhapatnam Port Trust, organized a series of engaging events to raise awareness about environmental conservation among schools and college students.
EPTRI conducted various competitions such as Poster making, Slogan writing, and Video making, encouraging students to showcase their creativity and express their ideas on environmental protection. These competitions aimed to inspire the younger generation to actively participate in safeguarding the environment.
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, EPTRI set up a stall at TSPCB, where showcased the activities, initiatives taken up on converting waste to useful products, and also promoted on Mission LiFE.
During the event, a booklet highlighting the medicinal plants established in the Herbal Garden at EPTRI and a poster addressing solutions to plastic pollution, prepared by EPTRI EIACP, were released. The honorable dignitaries present at the event included Sri. Allola Indrakaran Reddy, Minister for Endowment, Law, Forest & Environment, and Science & Technology; Sri. Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cinematography; Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Chief Advisor to the Govt. & Chairman, TSPCB; Dr. Rajat Kumar, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary, ES & T Department; Smt. A. Vani Prasad, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., Govt. of Telangana & Director General, EPTRI; and Smt. Neetu Prasad, IAS, Member Secretary, TSPCB.
In continuation of the awareness campaign, EPTRI EIACP, in collaboration with Govt. Degree & PG College, Siddipet, and College of Community Science, PJTSAU, Saifabad, organized a virtual session on Environmental Protection and Monitoring, aligning with the theme of World Environment Day 2023. Dr. Rajeswar Jonnalgadda, Technical Expert in Climate Change at EPTRI, delivered a compelling presentation emphasizing the significance of combating plastic pollution. The online session witnessed the participation of around 300 individuals from across Telangana, who also took the Mission LiFE pledge to become Pro Planet People (PPP) and actively contribute to the protection of the environment.
EPTRI remains committed to raising awareness and fostering a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation among individuals and communities. Through such initiatives, they aim to inspire positive actions that lead to a sustainable future.
