The 2-day International seminar on Telugu Literature- Environmental Consciousness, organized by EPTRI EIACP and the Department of Telugu at Government City College in Hyderabad, on 9th and 10th March ,2023 is an important event that brings together various stakeholders to discuss the relationship between literature and the environment. The presence of esteemed guests like Sri Arvind Kumar, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary to MA&UD and Smt A. Vani Prasad, IAS, Principal Secretary to government & Director General EPTRI Government of Telangana shows the significance of this topic.
It is heartening to hear that Smt. Vani Prasad IAS emphasized the growing attention towards environmental consciousness in the arts and literature, and urged students to take action in protecting the environment. The mention of Mission - LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) is also noteworthy, as it is an important initiative aimed at promoting mindful and deliberate utilization to preserve and protect the environment.
It is commendable that the government is encouraging poets, writers, fashionistas, environmentalists, nature enthusiasts, and others to come forward and participate in this movement towards global thinking for the environment. The seminar provides an excellent opportunity to discuss ways in which literature can be a powerful tool in promoting environmental consciousness and encouraging action towards protecting the planet.
