EPTRI Green Energy Centre commenced operations in June 2024 as a premier hub for renewable energy. Its core mission involves advancing renewable energy solutions through cutting-edge research, policy advocacy, educational programs, and innovative technologies. The Centre focuses on various sustainable energy technologies such as solar, wind, bioenergy, green hydrogen, and electric vehicles.

Additionally, the Green Energy Centre conducts educational workshops and training programs to promote awareness and expertise in green energy practices. It actively collaborates with stakeholders to develop energy-efficient systems, capacity building and policies, aiming to facilitate the transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon future.

Innovation

Foldable Mobile Solar Water Pump

• Operates using solar energy, which makes it a cost effective, sustainable solution for water pumping
• The “mobile” aspect of the pump means it is lightweight and easy to transport. The pump can be moved to different locations as needed.
• The modules attached are foldable, making the entire system easily portable and convenient to carry home. When connected to a battery, the setup can be used in the mornings for water pumping, while simultaneously charging the battery. The stored energy can then be used to power household electrical needs during the night, ensuring efficient day-to-night energy utilization.
• Since it runs on solar power, this pump has no emissions and contributes to a reduction in carbon footprint. An excellent choice for those aiming to reduce the environmental impact.

• The EPTRI Green Energy Centre was honored with an Award for its outstanding efforts in Sustainable Energy Practices by Solar Quarter South Asia on 21 March 2025 at Solar & Storage Summit Telangana 2025.

• The EPTRI Green Energy Centre was honored with an Award by Shri. Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary to Govt. Energy Department, Government of Telangana for its exceptional contributions to the field of Artificial Intelligence in Green Energy Sector at the International Conference on Green Technology Policy and Finance (ICGTPF 3.0) on April 4, 2025, organized by Chandradeep Solar Research Institute.
